Bread Day FAQ
Bread Glossary
What Is Bread Day?
You might be asking yourself, “What is Bread Day?” At its most basic, it is a bread potluck and you are asked to bring bread. Ultimately, Bread Day is whatever we make of it, but mostly it’s about bread / carbs / gluten.Below you will find the Bread Day FAQ and a Bread Glossary. It is important you read through it all.
Bread Day FAQ
What if I am gluten-free?
First, know that you are still loved. Second, you are encouraged to bring gluten-free bread so you can partake in the festivities, but please be aware that the vast majority of breads available will contain gluten.
What should I bring to Bread Day?
You should bring some type of bread to Bread Day and should also bring whatever you would like to drink. Bread Day is BYOBB (Bring Your Own Bread & Booze)! You can also bring any sort of snack or accompanying food items, but they must revolve around the main star of the show—your bread! Think dips, charcuterie, spreads, and more.
What type of bread should I bring?
Keep reading this webpage to the end! Ideally you bring a unique bread nobody else is bringing—the Bread Glossary should help.
How do I know if something is considered bread?
If it is a cake, it is not a bread. If it is a cookie, it is not a bread. Please text John Michael or Laura with any other bread eligibility questions—we have probably already spent two hours debating the answer amongst ourselves. Seriously.
How much bread should I bring?
We currently have 19 people RSVP'd 'yes' to Bread Day and 7 'maybes.' Do with that info what you will, and remember—the more bread, the more we can all feast on yeast.
Will there be activities at Bread Day?
There will at least be butter churning! We are still brainstorming other ideas, so if you have any, text them to John Michael or Laura!
Is it worth it to get a babysitter?
Ultimately, this is a personal decision, but the Bread Day Committee suggests splurging on one for this once-in-a-lifetime party opportunity. Is your baby more important than bread? Has your baby contributed to the overall development and sustainability of the entirety of human evolution and development?
